Seek Intimacy with God (Homily)

It was Mary who, having lived a life of piety, prayer, faithfulness, and giftedness, said "yes" to becoming the bearer of God into the world. In her willingness to sacrifice everything for the One whom she loved with all her heart, Mary became a type of mother for all the rest of us, too.

Thus, on the Feast of the Assumption (or Dormition), not only do we celebrate the life, death, and entrance into heaven of the Most Holy Theotokos, but also the truth that we too are invited to be intimate with God in the deep prayer that resides within our hearts.
