Holy Spirit Mondays: Pharaoh's Flood to Theophany's Fountain
Each week I send a short reflection to help you deepen your relationship with the Holy Spirit. Read: O Lord, on the holy day of Theophany (6 Jan), we stand in wonder at the banks of the Jordan, gazing upon the mystery of Your baptism. You who are without sin entered the waters, not to be cleansed, but to cleanse all creation. You who spoke the world into being, humbled Yourself beneath the hand of John, sanctifying the very waters that once covered the formless deep. And then

Awakened and Enlightened (Homily)
Today, the people of God are enlightened by the knowledge that the Feast of Theophany/Epiphany is approaching and are awakened to the need for repentance through which we are all called to the Sacrament of Confession. As an extension of this, we are reminded in these first days of the new year to ask ourselves: what have I done and what have I failed to do? Do I bow down before God? You who witnessed the Transfigured Christ and Sheltered the Apostles, Who could not bear His light. I wail for our people. These children of Abraham Who suffer and hate.... As much as they love and celebrate. How do I know? I see it. I hear it. I live it. I will not forget that birthday When I set my eyes on you. After 3 days A tomb

Theophany: God Appears to Us
The Holy Feast of Theophany is that greatest of days in which we celebrate the presence of the entirety of the Most Holy Trinity. "In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him. And a voice came from heaven, ‘You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased'" (Mark 1:9-11; cf. Matthew 3:13-17 and Luke 3:21
