Practice Silence at Night
The late evening hours are an excellent time to practice silence. Turn off the television, shut off the computers and phones, and stop all of your preparations for tomorrow.
Let God invade your prayer.
Open up your heart to Him.
Let him take you where He wants to lead.
You will notice you can't handle it for very long. But if you start practicing this behavior, you will begin to crave the quiet. You will be surprised by what happens next.
So next you're thinking of an evening activity consider: vocal prayer, slow meditation, and lots of silence.
