Holy Spirit Mondays: Do I Have Gifts?

A short reflection to help you deepen your relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Read:
"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call ... grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore, it is said, 'When he ascended on high, he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men' ... And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry" (Ephesians 4:4-12).
Ponder:
Paul speaks of "one body and one Spirit," yet I often live as if my faith were a solitary venture. Where have I drifted toward a private spirituality, and who in the body of Christ am I being called to lean into, learn from, or simply show up for?
The "one hope" of my calling is meant to anchor me. When the noise of lesser hopes grows loud (e.g. success, security, the approval of others) what would it look like to return again to the single hope that first called me by name?
Grace was given "according to the measure of Christ's gift," not according to my striving, my worthiness, or my comparison to others. Where am I measuring myself by the wrong scale, and what gift might I be overlooking because it does not match what I thought I should receive?
Christ ascended and "gave gifts" to us. What gift has He placed in me that I have been reluctant to name, afraid to use, or quick to dismiss as too small? What would change if I trusted that it came from the Holy Spirit and the ascended Christ Himself?
These gifts are given "to equip the saints for the work of ministry," meaning that my gift is not for me alone. Whom is my life meant to equip, and am I using what I've been given to build others up, or quietly hoarding it for my own sense of purpose?
Pray:
"Most Holy Spirit, save me from myself and sanctify me."
