The Works of the Lord are Manifest (Homily)

We shouldn’t need God to appear to us through great theophanies. But because we can behave in ways that make it seem as though we are deaf, dumb, and blind, especially in the psychological and spiritual senses, we often need something to wake us up to God's love, healing, and saving.
When those moments occur, we need to give thanks for them. We need to rejoice in them. We need to share our newfound insights with others because of them. We need to remind others of the extraordinary importance of repentance, the Eucharist, prayer, sacrifice, and an intimate knowledge of all that God has given us.
In other words, on this Sunday of the Blindman, let us be reminded that when we are renewed - truly renewed - people are drawn to the Lord who gave us a newfound faith, hope, love, joy, and peace.
